Values – It’s Who We Are

Insight Specialty Consulting is a woman-led business with our head office in the Lower Mainland, and we have been in business since 2011.  Our values drive who we are and guide all of our work. Integrity, creativity, equity, and learning are at the heart of what we bring to our clients.

We have embedded our values into our business practices and strive to be leaders in social, environmental, and governance systems.  Social responsibility is at the core of our values, and we work hard to be good corporate citizens.  Some examples of our practices that demonstrate our commitment include:

  • We are a certified Living Wage employer meaning that all of our staff and contractors are paid a minimum of $24.08, with most making well over that figure.
  • We actively recruit within equity-deserving groups, including women, immigrants, LGTBQ members, and those from less advantaged backgrounds.
  • We provide our team members opportunities to learn and engage in training that aligns with their professional goals and interests.
  • Our staff have always been able to choose their preferred working location, and we have team members and sub-consultants across the country.
  • Our practice focuses on serving the public and third sectors, assisting them to maximize their resources towards their mandates and goals.
  • We conduct as many of our meetings and engagements remotely as is practicable to reduce our transportation emissions.  Where in-person engagement is required, the preferred modes of transport are walking, biking, or public transportation, in that order.
  • We are largely paperless with minimal printing requirements, including reports and documents for our clients.
  • We bank locally with Vancity, a community-minded credit union in BC.
  • We are active in our communities and volunteer with boards, industry groups, and non-profit organizations.  Dr. Hansen has led several pro-bono advisory mandates with the PMI Volunteers, which seeks to connect senior project managers with non-profit organizations.

We want to make a difference in our work, starting with our practices.  We bring this ethos to our clients, ensuring that decisions are made in ways that advance the organization and the community it serves. To address underlying issues, we look beyond the surface to identify systems and structures that impact outcomes.  Nothing exists in isolation; it is all connected, and reflecting this interconnectivity advances the environmental, social, and governance outcomes that our clients are striving to meet as well.
